Title: F*****up Hard.....
Post by: HackDaBox on April 19, 2006, 08:33:00 AM

Order another Duox2 but ask the seller to flash it with "Flashbios Unauthorised version". perhaps Apple Guru can help you ?

With a chip previously flashed with Flashbios Unauthorised you can boot on a dead machine and then flash a good bios and fix a working but banned eeprom !

HackDaBox !

PS Allways flick the switch before you flash so you never kill both banks !

Hey , Yeah what do you mean by flick the switch before flashing so you don't screw both banks ?.. can't you flash just one bank at a time ?.. i'm talking for the white duox2 .. cuz i need to lock a hdd with it (using cromwell i guess) but dont have an eeprom backup (cuz hdd was dead) anyways.

What Hack means by flip the switch is to boot the good bank, and before it actually starts the process of erasing/writing, you switch to the bad bank so it actually does the erasing/writing on the bad bank.
Example: (1.6 that won't boot Flashbios ie. bank 1)
  -  Boot bank 0 to bring up cromwell
  - insert eruasia disc
  - when it asks to insert bios disc, insert disc, and flip the switch on the mod chip to bank 1
  - cromwell will erasing and program bank 1
  - End result: Bank 0 still with Cromwell, Bank 1 with Hacked Bios.

Then if you messed up, you just flip back to bank 0 and repeat the steps.  You will never be stuck with ruining both banks.

If you are getting error 6 the eeprom in the xbox has nothing wrong with it.
the problem is you locked the drive with the wrong eeprom info.
Even if you reflash the eeprom in your Xbox its not going to make the HDD magically unlock. It just means you will have another eeprom that still does not match the info the HDD was locked with.
Fit an unlocked HDD and boot with the chip enabled (assuming you still have a bank that works). Use slayers to rebuild the drive in the box and lock it in the box.

Ok I get what you mean.. so v1.0 don't have to deal with that issue, just 1.6  cuz theres a problem reading flashbios !!.. thanks for clearing that up dude .. appreciated
