Title: Replacing My Xenium Ice W/ A Duox2
Post by: SlammedNiss on February 05, 2006, 01:48:00 PM
OK, I'm having all kinds of trouble with my freshly modded xbox. I bought it off ebay, and it came to me bearing 'error 21'. I successfully installed a Xenium Ice w/ a pinheader, and booted the system to the XOS. I formatted and rebuilt the HDD w/ Slayer's, and I still get error 21. This isn't the only problem I'm having with this box, as I can't FTP to it either.

I'm thinging about selling this xbox with a DUOx2 installed, as I don't want to let my xenium ice go. I pretty much have to sell it w/ a chip, or else the box is useless, because no matter what I try, it won't cold boot to the MS Dash.

So, my question is this. Will the DUOx2 use the same pinheader configuration as the xenium ice? I removed pin #4 for the install, and rebuilt the LPC (it's a 1.6b) w/ an Exucuter rebuild board. Can I just remove my Ice chip, replace it with a DuoX2 chip, flash the bios, and it work?

1. Yes, the Duo-X2 will work on your pinheader.

2. Your FTP and error 21 problems are due to a bad ethernet controller chip.  I can repair these; click on "NIC Repairs" in my signature for details.

i wouldnt be so keen to sell it unless youve first installed a hacked bios, put a dash on cdrive with a boot disc or tried it with a different hardrive with a dash installed.  you can get error 21 from a missing/damaged dashboard.

of course if you have tried all that nevermind tongue.gif

yup, tried em' all. Perplexer's reasoning seems to be the most logical answer to my problems.
