Title: Need Help With Duo X2 Cromwell
Post by: Cyclone268 on January 17, 2006, 11:03:00 AM
Hey guys, ive been reading up on flashing and i have a few questions.

What BIOS would i use for a 1.6 DuoX2 Cromwell?

Do I need a Dummy File?

Would I just burn the Dummy File and the BIOS to a cd and load it on the xbox?

Thanks ever so much,

Oliver

Also, Can I use the network flash option? I really would like to if possible!

Thanks

Oliver

A DuoX2 White comes with Cromwell on one bank and FlashBIOS on the other. FlashBIOS is generally easier as it supports network flashing and single disc flashing, but it won't boot on all 1.6's, so you might have to use Cromwell. You'll find out by trying it. If you can use FlashBIOS, the TeamXecuter tutorial is good: http://www.teamxecuter.com/flashbios/

If you have to use the Cromwell bank, you need to burn a Eurasia disc, and you also need to burn a BIOS disc. The Eurasia distribution contains good instructions. Yes you should put a dummy file on the BIOS disc. You boot the Eurasia disc from Cromwell, and then Eurasia will prompt you for the BIOS disc.

Use EvoX M8 Plus v1.6 BIOS, 512k.

God i hope i can do Flash Bios! lol

If not, Whare would i find Eurasia? Would i need 2 different discs?

The bios i have is called EvoX M8 Plus 1.6 and 1.6b-06. Would that work?

Thanks and sorry for all the questions!

Oliver

If you have to use Cromwell you will definitely need 2 discs. One for Eurasia (it comes as an .iso so no problems there) and another which contains the BIOS and a few other files. It is all clear in the readme file.

Yes EvoX M8 Plus 1.6 is the correct bios to use.

I had the same problem.  I couldn't use the bank 1.  So I have to make a boot CD, but the EVOx M8 bios is 256k, and I read that it must be 512.  What can I do?

Thanks.
