  He has a great tutorial for modding your xbox and flashing a duox2.  Search for a few other guide for installing a duox2 so you can see lots of pics where to solder everything.  But his section for flashing the chip is spot on.
  If you can solder the chip, flashing the BIOS will be a breeze

Install the chip first.
Then stick in the HDD and boot an autoinstaller (Slayers 2.6 , AID 2.11) from the hacked bios flashed to the chip. Use the autoinstaller disc to format and build your new HDD dead easy.
