No not without adding a link into the pads to select  1 bank of the Flash Rom
If you think you might damage the switch are you sure you want to do this? You micht also damage the pads on the chip.
If you can do it use one of these types if you feel ambitious

This question of adding an external switch to the DuoX2 modchip comes up alot !

Has anyone got pics of this ? that shows how to remove the old switch and where to solder the 2 wires to and then the swirtch mounted and working ?

Maybe we need a pinned tut for this by now eh ?

No its not right.
You need a switch that will connect left pad to middle when you swicth it one way and right pad to middle when you switch it the other way.

Yup HackDaBox, that's exactly what I had in mind.

That will help many people!  Especially people who have trashed their TSOP but still want to get on Xbox Live.

Yes take off the can and remove the slider. You are still going to have to solder wires to the pads. (Did you fix your iron yet?)

You have to use the correct tips for the iron. How big is the one supplied. I can fit a chip and rebuild with a 3.5mm tip no worries..
Post a pic of the exact iron and I can cross reff the tips for you

I guess if you solder 3 wires its the same thing as if the switch was soldered directly to chip. also does it matter which way the switch goes I mean if bank 1 gets bank 0 viceversa?
