Title: Duox2 ==> Problem
Post by: Chancer on July 01, 2005, 03:25:00 PM
Make sure first you cleared E/cache and the XYZ partitions.
I don't understand the bit about the bios (The bit with all the types you list)
If you still have the original DuoX 2 bios on on bank 1 it may be M8.16 and not M8+.16.
If the box has Hynix Ram that could be the issue in which case you would need to reflash with M8+.16. The size is 512K per bank. If you flash with evox it doesn't matter as it resizes the bios for you.
There is always the possibility of a failing HDD and yes it does affect the DVD performance as well.

Well i just listed the bioses I had on my chip

I think you are confusing those with the bioses in the evox dash.
Your chip can only hold 2 bioses.
If you have ruled out the HDD. I would reflash the chip with M8+.16. this will work fine on a 1.6 with samasung Ram as well as the 1.6 boxes with Hynix ram.
Its easy to ID the RAm as it would Have Hynix stamped on the top of the Ram chips

OK my view is this ...

You have never reflashed the chip therefore it has Evox M8 16 on it now and this bios works 100% perfect on xbox 1.6 with samsung ram. So a reflash probly wont help alot but sure you can do this to rule that out.

I would suggest formatting the hard drive as it may contain some errors like cross linked files , fat problems , bad sectors etc that are playing havic !

Do we take it you also flashed another bios to the chip namely M8+.16?

I didnt but I got a new chip ( DuoX2 white )

Well I don't see what difference this would make as you have to flash the new Duo white anyway. Did you flash it with M8+.16? If not you need to try a different bios to the one you are using. The problem is not the chip itself

The guy that installed my modchip told me it couldnt be the bios as I have both a samsung dvd-rom and samsung ram.

Could it honestly be the bios?

Pretty goods, he installs it in front of you, answers all your question, warranty for 1 year the full fonctionally of the chip.

Well why are you having to sort out the problem then? Presumably this only happens since you had it chipped
