Title: Duox2 On V1.6
Post by: seriouslysilly on March 21, 2005, 08:24:00 PM
I installed the DuoX2 in a v.16 xbox
I did the LPC rebuild and the xbox boots up fine.

However, when I press the eject or the power button to turn the xbox on, the chip is active.
Any ideas on why the chip is always active?

I soldered it to the BT point as indicated on the website

Chancer: the DO wire is actually connected to the top part of the mobo. I couldn't use the alternate bottom because the LPC rebuild that was there before took too much from the underside d0 point.

First I'll check to see if the BT wire is touching the metal shielding behind the front panel.
If it is clear and still have problems, I'll do the alternative.

By the way, would this cracked capacitor (top right) have anything to do with the problem user posted image

There may lay the answer. If the LFrame is open circuit the box will always boot from the LPC. I think you may need to find a way to fix that underside point.

I wasn't referring to the capacitor actually. I was referring to the damage to the Lframe point that you refer to. If the lframe is open circuit due to the damage  the xbox will boot the mod all the time.

thanks Chancer!

Here's a pic of the messed up d0 on the underside of the mobo.
Could this be the problem?
I didn't think that the damage was that significant

It could well be I would connect the point where the ripped trace ends to the topside Lframe point with a piece of kynar.
