Your chip is fine !
Your mates soldering is scary ! becuase every time he fixes one thing he kills another ( sounds like my mechanic LOL )
Ok somewhere between attempt 3 and 4 the chip was fine and no fragging but when your mate tried to fix BT he has wrecked something else !
Moving to another D0 won't fix your problem , He needs to really study the board with a magnifying glasss and find the stray balls of solder that are causing your problems and clean them up !
If he is doing so much damage on each attempt i am not sure how solid of an install this will be though!

I would also at this point sack your friend and get someone with a bit more experience to sort the box out. So many things have gone wrong at each turn that I don't really think he is capable of getting this right. The DuoX2 is one of the easiest chips to install.

yea duox2 is a very easy chip to install ti takes me like 30mins to install one. I'm very careful when i install them or i could do it quicker. So i would def. find someone else to install the chip and its gonna be worth it an average install around here is 30-35shipped$ it may be worth it so u have a good/reliable xbox

dont softmod it and throw ur chip away. just have someone mod it here for you. It's relatively cheap. But either way i wouldnt let ur friend within 10ft of a soldering iron and your xbox. IF after 5attempts its not working the issue is the solderer

Alot of people are shocked when a chip works and not all the lpc connections are making a contact. This can be a V1.6 recovery is missing a wire or a pinheader install with a missing pin. The xbox may still boot if it has ground and 3.3v and some of the LAD lines are connected but it won't work perfectly. It may look like it's working fine but it won't be perfect.
I have had a couple of xbox's arrive on my workbench with aladdin 32/64 and aladdin xt's install in them (not by me) and they boot MS BIOS and HACKED bios just fine and even load Evox dashboard. The problem is they won't boot any .xbe so it loads the dash but no apps. I reinstalled all the apps but it didn't fix anything then once i resoldered the quicksolder area of the chip onto the motherboard everything worked fine. For this reason i do not recommend using the Quick Solder method.
Noobs should use the Duox2 (all models) or Aladdin Xt (1.0 - 1.5) and use the alternate L1 and BT points and the backside D0 point.

Allright, this is getting down right annoying.
I plugged the IDE cable back in, and taped the BT up to test it.
Back to the same problem as when we tested it at my friends(the last time the IDE cable was plugged in)
So there seems to be a problem with the IDE cable being plugged in.
Has anyone ever had a problem like this?
I know if the HDD was broken, It should still load the dash, then give errors, but it isn't. It's just flashing green and getting no video signal.
