Title: Duox2 Chip Bios Flash?

Since you have a 1.0-1.1 xbox you shoiuld be using the other bank of the chip. The 3.0.3 bank is for 1.6 boxes.

It is a little more difficult to flash the other bank because it is not a flash bios. It is a cromwell bios.

To flash the 1.0-1.5 bios bank, you have to get Eurasia from "The Usual Places" and make a boot disk. This Eurasia boot disk starts a linux distro that can flash the bios bank.

Once you have Eurasia running, all you have to do is follow the onscreen instructions and be ready with a bios flash disk.

If you want to save the 1.0-1.5 cromwell bios on the chip, just flip the switch after you get the cromwell screen.

What is causing this?

I press the power for few seconds and sometimes the red light flashes.  Most of the time it blinks orange even if I hold the power button.

Something wrong with the BT???

i just flashed the flashbios by network with a x2 4981 havent had any problems yet so you can flash the flashbios with a non 1.6 version bios

Yes flash bios 3.03 will work on 1.6 boxes in fact its usually easier to flash in a non 1.6 with bank 1 as it avoids the blank screen problems with the 1.6
For eurasia you need to make sure the correct Flash Ids are added to the raincoat config file.
