please explain how you are loading the ms bios. this may help. the light should shut off
If your xbox is a version 1.0 there is a PDF file somewhere i've seen in the past that says you cannot use the eject button to disable your chip you must boot your box holding a button to disable your chip. If you are aptempting to go onto xbox live with your 1.0 chip you will get banned. This also was for a x-chip... dunno bout the x-lite i never read those directions.

I boot the MS bios by holding down the X button. The Ms bios loads and I am able to get on Live but I have been banned. The xbox is a 1.4 so I don't understand. The light remains on all the time.

what happens if you boot using the eject button? just trying to close all roads

The light still stays on. Even when I boot use the PCB to turn off the chip the light on the chip stays on and two lights on the pcb comes on also.

weird. what other bios can you use on your chip. Maybe its the bios conflicting with chip. you've exhausted all posibilites. the only thing left is bios. maybe try a reflash or re download. it couldn't hurt anything. other than that I would have to say it would be the chip, but I hate to say that. Its almost always operator error. Any x-lites wanna chime in here... man this board is dead since the 360 came out.

I think the light on the chip PCB is always on even if it's disabled it just show that you have +5 volts going to it. Do you have the DIP switch header installed ? Look at the disable led I think it's yellow when it's disabled you can also try the dip switch that disables the modchip see if that works. I never play on live so havent tried disabling it much only for troubleshooting.

I did everything. I guess the light remains on no matter what. On the PCB a greenish light comes on when i disable it with the PCB.

From the xlite_settings.pdf
Detachable PCB:
Red means there is power going to the chip.
Green means the chip is in recovery mode (Cromwell flash menu)
Amber/Yellow means the chip has been disabled.
SW#4 has to be ON to see those leds.
SW#1 has to be ON to disable the X-Lite
Hope this clears up things.
I'm at home now and just tried it and that's what it does.
Except mine is stuck in recovery mode
