I keep getting this message in Internet Explorer.
"The file uploaded was not 4194304 or 256 bytes. Refusing to flash"
And
"Illegal Size, NOT FLASHING" in the X-Xchip Cormwell Bios v1.1 screen.
The switch settings are (1 and 3, onn)
(2 and 4, off )
Please , anyone ?

save the batch file as make4MB.bat
then run make4MB yourinputfilename.bin youroutputfilename.bin
That will create a 4MB image for you.
.... to create a batch file in windows xp click on start, click on run, type cmd, hit enter type cd \ hit enter, type edit make4MB.bat, hit enter, put all that crap in there, hold alt hit f, hold alt hit s, hold alt hit x, copy the 256k bin file over to the c:\ (go to my computer double click on your harddrive icon, copy the file there.) back in the dos window type make4MB yourbios'sfilename.bin your4MBbiosfilename.bin, hit enter, that will create the image for you.
For windows 95~ME change cmd to command.
Sorry if you didn't need all that extra extraneous info, just trying to be thorough.

i assume you have access to the usual places to get files like this. well find the bios file for the xchip. it will be evox 1.3, just look in the xchip directory. then flash that bios. im not sure on the specifics of the xlite, but with the xchip you use load raw, i assume the xlite has a similar command. once you have the evox 1.3 bios loaded reboot.

I followed your instructions exactly like you wrote them.
I was able to make the (256 byte) file into a (4mb) .bin
I burnt it into the x-lite via http: and (awesome) it worked !
"Sandman2055" it did work for me. You know what to do when you get your chip!!

How do I flash different bios onto the chip instead of just the same one multiple times? I mean, can I flash x2 and M8 onto the chip and then choose which I want to load at any given time?

How long does the flashing over http usually take? It's been 25 minutes, and no change....
I browsed to my XChip_V1.3.bin bios file (4MB downloaded from the usual spot) and clicked "upload and flash". The web browser says "Sending request to 192.168.0.99" in the lower left corner, and the web animation is going like it's trying to DL a page file. Been doing that for whole time. I'll leave it be for now, but is something wrong?
