I just installed my new xchip into a v1.6 xbox and am using the 1.1 xchip bios that has Evox built into it. Also I used firefuckers evox autoinstall disk. Everything seems to work fine but I noticed one odd thing. None of the motherboard/CPU monitors seem to work. From both the Xchip bios menu and from the stats being reported into my evox dash they read as non exsistant or like 64 degress Cel. Can anyone tell me if that is normal or any other 1.6 users with the same bios seeing the same thing? Any info would help as it's making me paranoid about my install job now :)
Thanks
Rage

It is because the 1.6 doesn't have any temperature sensors afaik.

Either 1.6's do not have temperature control, or Bios hackers have not found any such settings yet.
But then again, Bios's hackers could if no temp control settings found display n/a instead of nothing :P

This Question is for rage2122...I've searched through all the forums and on the web and didn't find much on the xchip with xbox v1.6. Did you have to flash the chip before you installed it and if you did how'd you do it without power to the chip? Can you help walk me through the steps and if not can you point me to a forum or a guide link that can? Thanks much in advance.

Actually, if anyone can help, it'll be much appreciated. Thanks Much.

TreeHouse: On X-Chips product page they have a quick install guide for X-Chip on 1.6, a more informative install guide is due out any time now.
I used that guide successfully on a few 1.6 installs, although I would suggest using alternative D0 if your solder skills are not good.

Yeah I followed the guides and used the alternate d0. It worked well but was a bit time consuming. As for the bios I flashed it pre-install with 1.1 but also I ran the usb upgrade cable out through the back of the xbox and then flashed in a couple varients of M8 in as well after it all was up and running.

what wire gauge do you recommend for the +5v wire? I know this isn't the thread for it but that's all I still need to know to complete and you guys have been so helpful. I would've used the 30 guage but i noticed in the quick guide that it's a little bigger then the rest of the other wires.
Nevermind, I got it but didn't know how to delete this post. Thanks all for your help.

ANy guage between 24-28 will be fine.
As 30 guage would be a bit delicate, since so small.
