Did you scrap D0.  If you did you may have shorted the trace going to the D0 via.

ok.. did u put the rivets in?
and.. sorry.... but did u say even if u take the solderless adaptor off it still does it? or do u mean u just took off the xchip..
btw do u mean xchip.. not xbit?
