Print Page - X-chip Bios Flashing Help

It sounds like you have everything you need to get your box up and going to do all the things you want it too. I'm assuming you have the x-chip evox BIOS downloaded since you knew you needed BIOS other then the cromwell that was shipped on the chip. What you are gonna do is connect your x-chip to your comp via the usb and run X-control, then you choose file>load raw. You will choose full.bin, unless you have a 1.6 xbox. Then if you want to use any other BIOS on your chip this is the time to load them onto the chip. Then just hit write. After that your chip will be ready to read that unsigned slayers disc. It's really easy to use, just choose the install option and it will do everything for you. You might want to update some of the files because they are outdated, but will still work fine. Hopefully this will help you out, let me know.

Hey thanks alot for the help and sorry for the late reply, as it's been a busy week. Anyway, I did as you said and everything went perfectly. I plugged the chip to my pc via usb and flashed it with the bios. After that I was able to install slayers evox, and then eventually ftp to my xbox and download the files I needed and such. All in all everything thing went smoothly, and I am now glad that I took alot of time to read up on procedure and make sure I did everything the right way.

i am in the same situation, so i tried what jah_warrior said but nothing seems to change. i did it with the xbox turned on assuming it had to be on, then turned it off then back on and i still get the cromwell screen. is there something i am doing wrong. i am also assuming that the full.bin that was already in my bios folder is the right one from what was said above. i tried downloading the evox bios from the evolutionx website too, but it is not a bin file. sorry if i am a noob but i just need to know what im doing wrong. Well firstoff, let me say that your xbox doesn't have to be on when you flash the chip. Secondly, the full.bin file you have isn't the one you need to install Evox dashboard. You need to download the Evox X-chip bios. There are two versions of this bios. "FULL16.BIN" is used for x-chips installed on a version 1.6 xbox. "FULL.BIN" is used for all other xbox versions. Once you have the proper evox bios, load it into your x-chip using the x-control software, and then write. You will then be able to run evox installation discs.

Quick question Im using the M8 bios,,which has worked great...My question is what is Full.bin?, That not a bios is it? Sorry for the stupid question,,just curious!!!

the full.bin is the cormwell bios... its the full 4 meg image of what the x-chip is shipped out with..

Since you are using M8, I suggest you find Evox 1.0 and write the ful image to your xchip, some more features are enabled on X-Chip using this 4 MB image.

uhh im not to sure ull find evox 1.0 on a website .. i might be able to help you.
