Title: Xchip Wont Work W/o Usb Connceted Help!

i just got my x-chip working, and get my original cromwell bios to load on occasion.(sometimes it resets 3x then frags) but i can only get it to work while connected to the computer with the usb cord and x-control running. if i remove the usb cord, it boots to the ms dash, as if the chip isnt in but the chip's LED lights up.

Also, i tried booting up the Evox dashboard with a cdrw.(when i got the xecuter to load from the cromwell menu.) shouldnt the Xecuter allow me to boot up the cd? if not whats wrong? Plz help!!!

Use Xcontrol software and make your boot bank the bank you installed xecuter bios to.

Thanx! I got my X-chip working without the usb attached to it. But now, I need to load a new dashboard onto it. I chose Evolutionx, i made it an ISO image with the program xISO, and burned it to a cdrw(Memorex). i burned it as low as i could,which was 4x with Nero ver.6. i put it into my xbox and it still cant recognize the disc! Can you help me???

Sometiems i find with cd-rw media is it needs a few attempst at reading, other times the media is not compatible, i have had success with verbatin cdrw on thompson drives which are the horible drives to find compatibility for.

DVD-R should almost work on any drives.

I have a Samsung drive, which is the best of the 3 isnt it? and dont i need a DVD burner to write on DVD-Rs?

and also, my x-chip doesnt always boot to my xecuter bios. sometimes it just goes straight to thems dash,even though i did what you said.

If it boots elsewhere somtimes would assume loose connection, try tightening solderless adapter scew

I actually went through the solderless adaptor guide again and realized i hadnt put in any rivets. I put in the rivets, and the x-chip boots every time! now all i need to do is get evox burned onto a dvd-r.Is it possible to burn an xiso image onto a dvd-r using only a cd burner? or do you need a dvd burner???

If you have a samsung, you should be able to use a cheap CD-R.  not need to use RW

When you power xbox after flashing evox 1.0 on chip do you see a purpel logo on top left of screen?

Are you powereung unit form Power button and not pressing Eject?
