No need to use rivets for version 1.0 Xbox's. Just install the solder-less adapter without the rivets.

After I install it which I have done the guide says to just turn it on. Well I did and nothing came up on the screen. What could be the problem. May not aligned properly?

Make sure you have the D0 wire put into the proper hole, and that the chip is plugged into the adapter the correct way. turn it on to see if the red light on the chip lights up, if so, put your xbox back together and turn it on. You should see the Xchip cromwell boot up.

Do you have everything plugged in (Dvd Hdd etc.) and do you have the xchip plugged into the adapter?

yes. Everything is hooked up. When I turn on the xbox I hear the hard drive clicking and the cd rom checking for a cd. Although now I no longer get a red led.
