Title: Mb 1.6 With Matzix
Post by: Scan-C on August 17, 2004, 02:24:00 PM
there's no diagram i know of.
first you would have to rebuild the lpc as for any other modchip.
then connect the wires from the lpc to the corresponding point on the matrix. you can use the pogo pins if you like except for the lframe point.
you need to cut the lframe trace to the onboard bios and solder a switch to it. the switch has to either reconnect the trace or ground the lframe to the onboard bios. this will enable the matrix or the onboard bios.
now connect the part of the lframe trace which isn't connected to the onboard bios to the matrix's lframe point and it should work.

And this one

But just ground lfram to enable matrix mod chip.

Yes you must cut the mobo.

Another side note..

remove the d0 pin with soldering iron and then you just solderless install the chip.

or screw that b#$#$# in there.

They just gave you one.  If that was over your head then you should sell your xbox or pay someone to do it for you.  No offense.

Ok read it again it tells you.

But just ground lfram to enable matrix mod chip.

Another side note..

remove the d0 pin with soldering iron and then you just solderless install the chip.

There is no d0 on 1.6 and you do not need to solder the matrix in.

So, I followed all the directions, and am booting up with the M8 (with the pink evox in the corner), and it makes it to the "X" screen, and then freezes, with the eject light blinking green.

What could be wrong here?

What dash are you tring to boot.

Use evtool and insure the m8_1.6 bios has your dash listed.
Also try a boot dvd-r disc or a brand new never used cd-rw disk with evox or slayers auto install.

Seeing now that almost all xbox are 1.6 being sold, mayby someone with the knowledge on how to install the matrix on a 1.6 should write a clean and simply step by step instruction and pin it. In fact hopefully there will be a step by step for all mod chip to be installed on a 1.6 and pinned. This way we wont get so many threads about how to install modchip on a v1.6. But then again may not because no one will buy XBOX anymore cuz it's getting harder to mod!

Xboxes are not getting harder to mod. People just got lazy after version 1.2. I've modded a couple of boxes that were 1.6 and its a hell of a lot easier than a 29 wire mod. So unless you have actually done one of those, quit complaining. 1.6 is usually 4 - 5 more wires than a normal box. Anyone with half a brain and an ounce of patience can do it.
