I use a no-solder and can shake my Xbox around without it coming undone. Soldering is the best way, but if you need a quickie or plan on upgrading sometime in the future, the no-solder chips are probably your best bet.

On the old Xodus site, there are a few videos of them dropping and tossing their Xbox and the chip not only staying in place but the Xbox still working perfectly.
Check them out if you're worried - that's what I did and I am definitely happy with my chip.
