you can make a 512k bios with one of the many bios programs out there. it just takes a 256k bios and makes it 512k.

i was hoping to just use one of the ones off slayers disc, i am a noob and don't wanna screw anything up

i cannot find this software to change bios from 256 to 512, is it in the bios section of software?  I searched on xbins to for a premade 512 and couldn't find one... please help, i want to get this fixed today

Go to Xbins and get the program XBtool_1.0.12.b4

You can make the BIOS for 137gb support and 256k, 512k and 1024k and you can change the colors of the xbox logo

what is the difference between x2_4973_v1.0_256k and x2_4973_v1.1_256k ?  I have downloaded both and using the xbtool selected the file size i wanted 512, clicked the size button it asked me what file i wanted, i did this twice, once with each file 1.0 and 1.1 then saved it.  the file now shows up as 512k but i'm not sure which to use... again please help, i am getting close

Yes use a new BIOS

Also with that tool you can name your BIOS whatever you want.  I would name it something that you could remember as the Bios you want to use

IE 4979_Final_Blue.bin

That way you can keep your new bios somewhere safe or even add in your dashboard so if you need to reflash its there, buts that something you can figure out later.

if i remember corectly, 4979.67 is for HD larger than 137Gb.. which enable the G drive.
