Hi,
i have a Matrix chip, and im using it on an xbox 1.0

i have had problems with it not working after a few months of use.. i then have to re-open my xbox and re-align it.. i dont think it actually requires realigning but its as if the chip has lifted of the main board..

anyway.. i noticed in the above post that u say it can be solderd.. is there a guide on the web anywhere to show me how to do it.. as i think its probably going to be less work than opening my xbox every couple of months..

thanx

No you can not install a Matrix in a 1.3 - 1.5 no matter what install method you use.

The chameleon can be installed on all versions of the xbox.  Versions 1.0-1.1 require desoldering of the LPC points.... V1.5 requires that LPC 2 and 9 be soldered to ground and 3.3V respectively.  There are some great tutorials on www.xbox-scene.com

I couldn't get my Matrix to work even with connecting the Lframe to the MPcX chip.

Theoretically, it should work, but I haven't tried.  a94cobra says he couldn't get it to work, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's not possible.  It's a very difficult installation.

@a94cobra, were you using a compatible BIOS?

I've had the same problem w/ Matrix chip not working after a few weeks. It's alignment problem. I fixed it by soldering the "d0" spot w/ a wire and solder the wire back to the chip. It's very tricky to solder "d0", but a lot reliable than other methods.

I may have another issue with that xbox.  I ordered a couple Chameleons and can't get them working either.  It is a 1.4.  I know I had the Lframe connected properly and was using Evox M7, even tried 4979 X2 BIOS.  But when the new Chameleons don't work, something else must be up.  I have some ideas.  I am going to try the Matrix again.  So if it is possible I will reply.

Thanx Dojoman,
was wondering if you could show me exactly how u did this.. i am extremely worried about soldering (hence the reason i initially bought a solderless chip) and i dont want to destroy my xbox MB...  perhaps a photo or something of how your xbox looks would be excellent..
but please don't go to any trouble..

appreciate your response..

Thanx
