Hey
I have a 1.0 box with the solderless. Are your lpc holes filled with solder? Sometimes the pins under adaptor just do not sufficiently touch the lpc points and as a result it frags. Just try removing it and putting it back in. And make sure your gold wire is in the DO hole as this is very important and will frag or not work if its not in the correct hole. And i think you have to use a standard av cable because i read on many threads that high def av pack will not work. Good Luck!

Same exact problem here, cept 1.1...still trying to get it working....anyone?

If you remove the DO wire and the chip and restart the box, it should boot to your normal everyday MS Dash with the regular MS Bios. But when you install the chip, it sounds like either its an alignment problem (check again even though you have probably checked many times). Unscrew and rescrew the adaptor. And VERY important, make sure the gold wire is smack dab in the DO hole because if its not, it will not work. Make sure its INSIDE the hole and not just touching it. And also make sure your putting it in the right hole. And since you have the 616T drive, i dunno whether that affects it because I used the original factory thompson drive. Well I hope this helps.

The Blue light will only flash if every single point is perfect and if Chameleon Cromwell is on the chip. You could try removing the solder from the points in an effort to make better contact with the vias, and you could also use a Matrix programmer to verify the flash ROM has a BIOS on it. If you don't have a programmer, then borrow one from a friend; I think I may have also seen instructions on making your own, if you don't have a problem with soldering, which you evidently do, so never mind.

Well..at least you know that your xbox is still OK.
I'd go with the suggestions of Xeero to use an external programmer to verify that you have a good flash of the chip.

works fine with no chip, But i KNOW there's a bios in it, cause i used it in another machine, a 1.3 all banks except one are flashed, i'm using the 4x256 setting. I'm loading from the first bank. the LED flickers if you put the chip in when there's power...

Anyone else seen this problem...the odd OL reading on Pin# 1! I haven't heard a response?! Should be getting a programmer soon to double check proper Cromwell BIOS.

I have nearly the same problem on a v1.1 xb. Little diff on my 1.0.
You can read all about my problems here:

Anyway, it doesnt sound like your install and you can give up. Try returning you chip. IF you can get your money back get an xecuter, if not, maybe youll have better luck. Make sure to mark the chip AND adaptor when returning so you know if they just sent you the same crap back. Im going through this trouble now with eb2k who sent at least 1 bad chip (maybe 2) and a possibly bad adaptor (though I dont know how they could f... that up)
