It arrived today from Easybuy2000.
It is a 1.3, but it looks different from my other, older 1.3.
It must be a new batch, it doesnt have the stickers on it and the matrix addon connector is missing.
Is there a problem with these newer versions or something?

I cannot say for sure...but several have complained this week alone with this as a problem.  That is good to know about the different design.  I notice in the pics of the LE the Matrix add-on seems to be gone. But I did not think this applied to the 1.3.

They are definately different, maybe thats part of the reason they are selling them cheap now.



So is there a solution or am I screwed?

Since this is a newer chip I am surprised it does not come with the latest Cromwell.   If you are sure your connection is solid, and have checked that everything is making proper connection (and your chip is facing correctly) then it sounds like you might need to return the chip, or get a programmer.

Sorry for your troubles.  If you have an old chip...does it work in the machine?

OK, latest update.
Thought I would get rid ot the solderless adaptor out of the equation and did a pinheader install.
The unit still does not power on at all, still FRAGs in all of the banks.
I tried my older Chameleon in it and still nothing. Box works fine without the chip installed.

Wouldnt I at least get a "box needs service" error screen if the chip was working with old cromwell, X2 or no BIOS at all, or would it just FRAG as in my case?

I am waiting for my programmer to arrive and will put M7 on and see if that helps.

Here is a question.. I also have several Chameleons 1.3 with the Matrix addon port...  i am going to install them into xbox v1.4s will they work with the new x2 bios out or the M7 ???

please help
