If you can stand using one second-hand, post a WTB ad in the Buy&Sell forum. My opinion is that you're just better of getting a Chameleon, though. If you're apprehensive about soldering, use the solderless adapter.

I'm under the impression that the rivets are to make the alignments more secure, but they're not necessary. Also, the solderless adapter requires no wires be soldered. There are optional wires for A15, P, and E.

dont worry, i put one on a 1.0 xbox and it works fine.. you dont have to remove solder or remove the motherboard, its actually better if it has solder. rivets are for the new xboxs that dont have any solder

I found some really good links at http://xodus-chip.com with videos and stuff.
Thanks for everyone's help, I'm going to Chameleon-land!

people dont sell/buy the matrix anymore, simple because it sucks
while it was the first solderless chip, wich made its sucess, it was still very unstable, a little shake on the xbox could fuck everything up

If you want a Matrix I can sell you a used already flashed one. Just PM me about it.

Wow, I guess I am really lucky are damn good installed. I got one of the first matrix chips from EB2k and haven't had a problem with it since. And I take my xbox everywhere. I through the damn thing in my back pack and swing it all over the place, I've dropped it pretty decently on the floor to, etc. I'm shocked, but the chip has never given me a single issue or come loose. I'd like to upgrade but really have no reason to even mess with it anymore.
