Title: Matrix Solder
Post by: FugginAss on May 30, 2003, 12:16:00 PM
xbox v1.1
matrix chip
LPC holes are not filled

i am having mucho problemos.  first off, i stripped the plastic and had to switch to a bigger screw.  i can get the chip to allign (sometimes) and i can see the blue logo come up (from my Evox D6 Blue bios), but can only do this with my fingers literally holding the chip in place.  as soon as i put the screw in (or move a friggin' millimeter) then it misalligns.

i want to solder the matrix chip and be done with it.  i am completely new to soldering.  have found a few guides on soldering xecuter chips, but nothing specific about soldering matrix.  please someone help.

p.s. all this started when i wasn't able to play some newer games from the hard drive (120g), like wolfenstein, burnout2, matrix.  i thought to update the bios (media check problem?).  was running evox3.6.  is Evox D6 the way to go or should i/can i put the latest x2 bios on the matrix chip?
