I modified the programmer to be able to program CheapMods. Tested all the points/soldering...everything is good. Used info from: http://www.dssforyou...matrix-adpt.htm
Plugged it all into my PC and WinLPC says "Device not found!! yada, yada, yada". Milk just appears for half a second and disappears...tried the -T thing and it kept reading 1111, switched it to write and it said it was writing but after I switched back to read it was all 1111 again.
I switched my PC BIOS to have LPT as ECP/EPP and it does the same sh!t. Is there any other settings I have to do in BIOS?? I'm running WinXP...whats this file that everyone is saying to install first??

Checked the port settings in device manager and now there's a new address to use 0778. Put that in WinLPC and now I get "Wrong or No device found". Do I need to change the offset for the SST chip??
Doesn't anyone know what that XP file is??

Same sh1t, different computer. Although I did get a Mfg/Device ID of 11h a couple times.

I never had a Matrix...I just bought the programmer off someone just for programming cheapmods since my eeprom programmer doesn't support these sst chips.
I would never buy a Matrix chip...overpriced and I don't like the idea of not having the chip soldered in.
But anyway, Ive tried everything now. I installed those XP files and even tried the matrix flash pack, every LPT port setting in BIOS and still nothing.
I wish i knew if this programmer worked in the first place.
Its really pissing me off...I have at least 5 ppl waiting for chips and I got no way to program them.
