Title: Still, Matrix Woes!
Post by: TedAppleberry on December 26, 2002, 11:15:00 PM
I have a V1.0 XBOX I just installed a flashed Matrix in to. The light is simply not turning green. That pogo simply is not connecting with the mobo. I put a meter on the 'g' spot and got 5 volts but I can't get the same 5 volts through the back of the pogo!
Now, is this connection totally necessary? I have heard mixed reviews about even needing to get a greenlight for this thing to work. For fun I booted my box up with the chip blinking red and nothing happened, granted I didn't have a DVD or HD in the unit but I expected to see an evo splash screen or something? Is this an accurate method of testing? I flashed with EvoX D.6 EjectFix.bin. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!

The only thing that i can think of is Firmly pressing the pogo pins down.  I installed it by literally tightening almost fully the screw and then slowly moving the chip until it went green.  Another thing is you might want to dab some rubbing alcohol on the connection points for it might fail to recieve proper contact.

Good Luck it truely is an amazing chip

I have cranked the hell out of that screw and moved the chip in ever direction! I have scraped and cleaned the g spot and pogo pin, they are both in good shape. Looking at the pogo pin and looking at the g spot I don't know how this thing could ever work? I will keep trying but I am getting frustrated!

I'm not 100% sure if this is how that circuit of the chip works but
If you know anything about electricity and current flows etc...That point may be the one which gets earthed out, so you will not read any voltage on that pin or that circuit till the earth is removed....ie removing chip...
Not sure what color the LED will flash with these new bioses. Try re flashing.. But I have found that the 1.1 flash red but swear had one flash green aswell  uhh.gif . Some times the chips are dodgy
get it back to flashing red put the HDD drive back in and the dvd rom. They should be in.. biggrin.gif  Boot then , see what happens hopefully it works...
