1. No problem at all. However, I find my 80GB Maxtor is a little bit hotter than my 120GB WD HD.

2. Lock your new HD and use mode 3 of Matrix. That's it.

After flash TSOP, you change the xbox on board BIOS and most probably you cannot play xbox live. But the advantage is you can sell you matrix now.

You can add togles that switch between the different bios on the TSOP you can put 4 different 256k bios or 2 different 512k, etc...  (instructions are in the turtorals).  So you can play xbox live even if you have flashed the TSOP.

Yes, you can get rid of the matirx after flashing the TSOP, but I wouldn't for various reasons.

                                    My advice, if you never soldered before I would not flash your TSOP.

Unless you have a lot of money to spare when it goes wrong.
