Supposedly no. Team X-ecuter said their bios for v1.0 will fit on 256k, but for v1.1 it will need at least 512kbs.

but im sure i read on the x-ecuter site (b4 it got updated) that u can use 1.1 bios on matrix

hmm...y would a new bios need 512k just because its 1.1? its only a new type of encryption

x-ecuter are so far the only ones with the cracked bios and therefore it their bios is 512, people with v1.1 xboxes need a 512 chip.

They probably made it 512 on purpose to screw over the people with the matrix.  After all Matrix was simply an enhancement of the Xecuter, why not screw over the people who copied you.

Acording to my info, the large size is due to some fancy new startup animation, not to mention silly things like checking for half a dozen different named dashboards, and even a config file on the hdd.  Once it is released, i think it should take less than a month for someone to cut it down to 256.

I almost hope not since I just flashed and installed my Matrix and it is seated and working so fine.

If they do have a new one, it will have to have some real KO features for me to take it out and reflash it.

The disadvantage of a 256k BIOS is that the DEBUG BIOS is 512k.

Some of us would find a debug console very handy...
