Hmm... That big circular thing in front may be a screw hole for attaching it.  And I guess the switches present on it are for turning the chip on and off.  At least I'm hoping I'm right.

I still need more info.

Also, did you notice the little part. I don't know the proper name for it, but someone did it to the executer to make it easier to install/uninstall by putting long pins in and it fits over top, thats what this looks like.

LOL I knew it!
Sons of bitches took the X-ecuter design and added pins to it. It does screw down how I thought with the screw hole where the X-ecuter Horseshoe is. Well I hope it sits perfect 24/7 through bumps and grinds cause I'd sure hate to see some of you guys plugging the bitch in and finding that it shifted a bit and is now bridging the 5v and the Nvidia chip line..lol...Pzzzzzztttt!

Hey it looks nice though, so I will give them that. Also looks VERY familiar though....very familiar.

But I AM NOT bashing the chip, just those fuckers at easybuy that pulled some really stupid shit on those of you that ordered Pcbioxx.

The chip does look good, and if it works properly 100% of the time, then it is pretty damn sweet. So don't jump on my shit for having a laugh at it though, because it is the X-ecuter..or what the X-ecuter should have been.

Yeh Troll123 came up with the pin design way.

Ok...

Now I see why they kept it secret for so long smile.gif

Its *very* clever.

If you "flip it around" in your mind, you will see that it is in fact an X-ecutor-type LPC mod. The little "magnets" look in fact to be for want of a better word, pin/nail heads, or say metal cylinders that sit on the solder pads. I'd bet they were pointy, as since solder is soft, once its screw on it could "dig in" to the solder pads on the logic board for better contact.

Good call Dark, good call.

The larger chip is obviously a flash; I'm guessing the socket on the top there is for connecting a Parallel port to it, as opposed to putting pins on the Xbox logic board, then plugging in.

Logically then the switches (as there are two) should be a disable, and a flash on/off.

Yeah, I would have kept this puppy under wraps too, as it will be cloned by the end of the week smile.gif

I'm gonna get my hands on one of these things to see how well it works; I have a couple of buddies with xboxen that need to come on over and Join In smile.gif

can't you just place a electronic tape over the other solder points just in case?

So this sucker is just going to plop down on top of the board?  On pins 1-8?  And where exactly is the programmer going to be dumped?

Funny how Easybuy still hasn't updated their site.

I thought about that.  Though if the chip is screwed on incredibly tight and still moves, it'll probably rip right under the tape and still make a connection to points its not supposed to.  I will probably try electrical tape and hope for the best though.  Unless I'm recommended against using it.

How does it send ground to disable the onboard bios?

I think the picture needs to be corrected here....  it is affecting the posts.  Someone moderate that post.

Anyways, on top of that...I think the picture is wrong.  Look how you draw your lines, , ok, now explain why the screw hole is over the board?  It does not line up with the screw location.

It appears that the chip would be a better fit, over screw hole and all points if flipped, but then would have problem attaching the header for flashing..  I would wait till the installation guide is released before making further assumptions.

I personally dont like posting something that is wrong, but i have done it before.

Anyways...  that is my 2cents...  I may be wrong, but I think the big question is still....why doesnt the screw location line up???  Unless they have found another point to ground out the BIOS on the opposite side of the connector...

So far I like what I see.....Potential buyer here....

this is MY opinion, its not an OFFICIAL picture, and its correct, im just comparing the POINTS to the MOBO and XECUTER. Nothing else, so we can have an idea of how this goes. And i disabled the pic, ill fix the slow-up problem later.

as i said before
id like a solder chip with the same PBC layout as the x-cuter 1.1
that looks very nice and neat to solder on!!!

but have the finish of the matrix chip, where can flash the bois and stuff easily.

i hope the x-cute team make such a chip VERY soon cause this is just a copy cat of the xcuter design. and xcuter deserve sales more then xodus does.

I think it is intresting that it has 2 switches on the chip.... = BIOS switch?
Title: Xodus/matrix Pictures Unveiled
Post by: Kurto2021 on September 21, 2002, 11:45:00 PM
Okay if that is a bios switch that is a poor design.  Who the hell wants to take apart the Xbox to flip a damn switch.  As far as the pins being nails that dig in that is in correct.  They are springloaded pins.  Similar to those on a universal jtag.  Easybuy sells the universal jtag so if you want a better look at the pins just look at that.  I see where the disable goes but it is such a small solder point...you will have to be very precise with your placement.

I think I figured it out....
1 switch is to turn the mod on/off, the other one to flash the chip...
