how can i get the filling out of the holes on the lcp potins so i can use a header pin adapter thing?

You can use a normal soldering pump on the back of the motherboard while desolding the LPC holes, or (my favorite) use brail to "absorb" the solder. There are good tutorial on this in this web site.
And btw, try to do it on some cheap old cards BEFORE trying on the Xbox... it helps...

I just got finished doing a job on a 1.0. I cannot stress the patience you will need w/ those LPC holes!! :o Sometimes a hole will open up like magic, sometimes one will get you frustrated as hell!! :) Just be cool and take yer time! ;)

I think Phoenix mean braid.
I bought a solder vaccuum tool from Radio Shack and it went smooth. I had my gf use the vaccuum and I melted the solder. Very easy with two people. That way you are able to hold the board upright and solder at the same time. :beer:

OMG this is the best...
i had a 2ed person hold the board hoizonal.. on the bottom of the mobo i heated the lcp points and he pushed the wires threw it works so well

Only because there is a higher potential of getting solder splashes. I prefer the soldering braid as the solder gets soaked up riather than pushed through somewhere but.... whatever works is a great solution. ;)
