Well if it's nero then try using RecordNow Max. But you said you updated the drivers and I'm talking about the firmware. Drivers are different to firmwares

The same media that worked for one burner might not work with this one. I would try a different brand of media and use MINUS R for compatability.

Most time if I backup a game, I FTP the folder over, use Craxtion to ISO the contents of the folder, then use Alcohol 120 to burn...

Knock on wood, only coasters have been cuz of cheap media...

if you are using +R's you need to changed the booktype/bitsetting to DVD-ROM.  There is a prog directly from Lite-On that will do this for you.  You'll need to do some reading around on your own to figure it out... i think there's an option to do it in nero also.

Why bother.  -R is generally a little bit cheaper (ie Ritek) and you won't have to worry about it.  Also not all burners support the booktype/bitsetting option.

he could make use of the +R's he has though if he gets bitsetting working.  I think Lite-On actually makes a tool for their drives... found it here

I think you have to run this program first every time you put a new blank in the drive, not sure so check the link in the description section of the page linked above for instructions.

Good luck.

Go to the firmware site I gave you and download "omnipatcher". It will allow you to set the booktype to dvd-rom automatically once you flash your burner.

I'm just curious. But did you know that you can convert your burner to a Dual Layer burner?

I have a Sony DVD RW U18A and I've successfully converted it to a Dual Layer (LiteOn SOHW 832S).

i have a memorex +R only burner that i had before i got an xbox, it works fine for movies so if you need use for your +R disks use them for movies, after finding out xbox is very bad at reading +R media i bought a lite on +-R burner and i took a shit and whipped my ass with it, nothing worked, -R or +R so i took it back all stanky and all and got a pioneer A05-R only and havent had a problem yet
