Title: Halo Edition Xbox Component Not Working
Post by: cyhill99 on February 10, 2010, 02:51:00 PM
ok since noone responded, i found out the answer.
Halo special edition xbox does not like to use the component cables at all if you are using a tube tv.
I hooked it up to an HD tv and it worked awesome.

the original black xbox can use both types of wires on a tube tv, thats why i was confused.

That's surprising. I'm sure your results are correct, but the Halo Xboxes should be identical to ordinary Xboxes manufactured at the same time, apart from the colour of the case. Did you use the same CRT TV for both the original black Xbox and the Halo Xboxes?

That does sound very odd but its an interesting discovery. I have a Halo Xbox as well and it just looks like an average v1.4 xbox on the inside. I don't own a CRT TV with component input so unfortunately I can't test my systems. I only have a flat panel.
