1. Softmod the xbox.
2. Install XBMC as a dash.
3. Network the xbox and laptop together.
4. Share files from laptop.

There are 2 general methods for softmods: gamesave exploit and hotswapping. For gamesave style, you need one of the 3 exploitable games: http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=426906 and some means to transfer the gamesave to the xbox - memory card or usb drive with a compatible usb-xbox adapter. The Ndure family of softmods is the most recent: Krayzie Ndure 1.1.1 (gamesave style) or Kingroach Ndure 3.1 (hotswapping)
If you have a xbox 1.0-1.5 you could tsop flash the xbox by soldering the write enable points:
http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=165336 after you have done the softmod. This makes hdd upgrade slightly easier and you will be able to alter the boot flubber and remove the dvd drive.
