Title: 480p On My Xbox Looks Extremely....bad.
Post by: SC10-E on August 09, 2007, 07:50:00 PM
Hello,

I have a softmodded xbox v1.4 that is hooked up to my HDTV via component cables.

My dashboard is XBMC.

I have enabled 480p in the MS Dash AND XBMC and I still have the same problem; whenever I am in 480p, everything looks extremely, sharp, if you will.

In XBMC all of the edges are sharp and not rounded looking like they should be, and this is basically what it looks like with everything else in 480p.

Also, another example is that in Fable (game) there are lines, sort of like scan lines through fire, explosions, etc.

Has anyone encountered a problem like this before?

nah m8 its not your videochip. its 480p on a hi-def wide screen tv. kinda looks like ps2 dont it. 720p works with almost all xbox1. thats what im running mine at and yes there still are jaggies on screen but thats only because of no anti-alias (whatever its called) built into xbox1. scanlines from your old non-hdtv did a great job at hiding these jaggies but now with the hdtv and component cables you can really see them

I see. That's too bad, I wish there was a way to force the anti-aliasing just like you can force everything into 480p on it :/
