ok so have a look at this site and scroll to the bottom. the question is will this work for a 1.6v of the xbox? Is there one out there that will support a 1.6v xbox? I making it home made cuz it will prob be cheaper

AFAIK, no one has come up with a VGA patch for the Xcaliber video encoder (which is what the v1.6 Xbox has).  It might be possible to use the internal sync signals as described here, but that will require major soldering and make the box VGA only. Other than that, you could buy a component to VGA converter (from various companies, usually around $60).
