The only time you can make a VGA cable for your XBOX without a sync separator aka LM1881N is when your display device can sync with a three wire RGB signal. You can check in the manual or online and look for RGsB or SoG (Sync on Green). This indicates sync data is embedded in the Green signal. An LM1881N is used where monitors require RGBCs or RGBHV aka 4 and 5 wire VGA.

Check out this post by dustobub here, where you will find this link here. This is a great simple and easy way out. If you own the component cable already plug this in and you're off. You still need to follow instructions from modders like Frostythesnowman to get your xbox bios to output RGB instead of YUV when in HDTV mode.
Otherwise search for JAREDC01 diagram it has everything anyone could want.

You need an HDTV cable plugged in, I guess preferably not your modded one for a moment. When the xbox encoder is in YUV/60 you can go to the M$ dash and enable 480p/720p/1080i and reboot. Swap over to your modded cabled and all will be well.
YUV/60 is NTSC component

Unfortunately, the Xcalibur encoder is not compatible with any current VGA mods. You will need to change your motherboard to another version either v1.5 or below in order to be able to use VGA.

thanks a lot guyz

I have also another motherboard from a broken xbox but i don't have the hdd(i have the original hdd but it is formated) and the dvd-rom so i can't get it to work.
Any ideas of a cheap way to make it work with another hdd and without the dvdrom...either with a cheap and easy to solder modchip or an other hardmod?
I think it is ver.1.1
