Title: 480p Looks Worse Than 480i?
Post by: Blackfly1976 on April 25, 2007, 12:05:00 AM
I just got this new TV/monitor: http://www.benq.us/p...CD/?product=638
Everything looks great and I'm really happy with it, only problem is that my xbox looks terrible in anything but 480i
I understand the problems of my high native resolution (1920*1200) and the image being upscaled, but this doesn't explain why I get a ghost on the right side of all text for my xbox 480P/720P/1080i, but 480i is fine. Also 480P looks great for DVDs from my DVD player, and all resolutions look great from my cable TV box, so this is not a TV issue.
My xbox is modded with smartXX, so I can play with eeprom settings is this can fix anything.
I guess what I'm trying to find out here is if my xbox has a problem or if this phenomenen is normal for an old xbox and a new 1080P display.

Ghosting only happens with cheap HDTV cables. If you purchase an official Microsoft or even a Monster brand HDTV cable, your ghosting will go away.  happy.gif
