Title: The Dumb Questions Are The Ones Not Asked.
Post by: THC Kuma on March 27, 2007, 11:20:00 AM
Ok Ive looked over the forums and maybe ive overlooked it but......

I know ya'll will gimme shit for this question BUT here it goes.

My 360 is set for HD and is running at 1080i, so i thought id do the same for my original X.

I bought component cables for it, hooked it up, went thru the menu and enabled all modes 480,720 & 1080i.

I reboot to find that it never changes. I then disable one @ a time and still cant get 1080i out of it.

Ive even tried it on my modded X and dont get any change......Why? Can one of you guru's help me out with out tellin me Ive asked a dumb question.

Thanks in advance

Most XBOX games do not support anything higher than 480p. Some games support 720p and 1080i, but the vast majority of XBOX games won't display anything higher than 480p, even if you have all the options enabled.

The only things that makes good use of the Xbox's HDTV abilities are XBMC and Linux.

Oh no, don't get me wrong, 480p (HD) is still quite nice compared to 480i. A progressive signal (480p, HD) is always going to be better than an interlaced one. (480i, non-HD)
