Title: I Need Some Input!
Post by: rubenelson on March 13, 2007, 05:32:00 AM
Ok here is what I know. Its a friend of mines XBOX that has developed a Major issue that I'm stumped on.

Xbox V1.2 to v1.5 (not sure exactly) does have the focus chip if that helps.

Modded with an X-B.I.T. chip.

Running Avalaunch.

Said his son was in Avalaunch deleting games to make space on the HDD then the screen just when fuzzy.
I thought maybe a video setting got changed but what I dont get is if  it was a video setting in the dashboard then it would only affect the dashboard...am i correct??

This does it as soon as you turn on the xbox. I've Changed bios on the chip and tried booting to the original dashboard and still same problem. original dash boots up but still fuzzy. The only screen that I've got to come up clear is the problem code screen. Other than that...its just fuzzy. Audio is fine though. I'm scrared its a hardware issue with the video. I just want to be sure though.

Does anyone have any input?????  sad.gif

You probably are running a 720p signal to a 480p capable TV or somting of that sort. Try using regular a/v cables. If you are already using standard a/v cables i have no idea on what your problem is. Make sure you got the right cords in all the correct inputs on your tv.  tongue.gif

Connect it to a tv with composite cables and get back to us.

Thanks for the replys guys.

Yeah my TV supports up to 1080i and I was using my component cable but it did the same thing on his tv with a composite cable.

That was one of my first thoughts was a video signal got changed and his tv did not support it so thats why I hooked up to my tv and cable to see if that was it and still the same thing. Thats when it hit me that something else was wrong because of the was it does it when it first comes on instead of when the dash loads. If a setting got changed in the dash I asume it would only affect the dash.

Thats a good Idea with the hdd. I have a spare 40 gig I'll throw in there and run the slayers disk and see what happens. I got the disk to bootup before but it was still fuzzy so I couldn't see the menu screen.

Again Thanks for the help.
