Yeah, Monster cables are nice if you have the money. But honestly, I use a $10 XBOX Component Cable I purchased from Lik-Sang.com and it looks gorgeous on my 52" HDTV. Monster cables don't really make a big enough difference to justify the cost.

Monster cable is a marketing joke.  Its the same shit thats marked up about 1000X.  Go into circuit city and have a look at the 150$ hdmi cable.

Then go google hdmi cable and find out they are 30$.  Its for people that dont know any better.

LOL, yeah, but they probably use the length to justify the cost to all the dumb customers.

You gotta love marketing!
This is the same thing as apple marketing the iPod. It plays propreitary music formats that you can pay for on our website. Why not get a cheap mp3 player?
Same thing with Toyota and the Scion/Yaris line, The scion XA and AB and Yaris are the Totyota Echos with a different body. Same chasis, engine, springs, etc...
If you see two identical products and one has nice packaging and one has a brown plain box which are you gonna choose?

I'm not saying Monster brand cables and A/V accessories themselves are crap, but they are way over priced for the money they want you to pay for them, at least retail.

IOW, for the price, they are carp. If they were realisticly priced for their quality level, I wouldn't complain.

just need to add my two cents in regards to price. Yes there is a certain degreen of name brand markup, but they really are a superior cable manufacturer. For audiophiles there is nothing better that can be had without a professional installers liscence. You will really only notice the difference in a well designed room/car system. The cables are enginered to virtually eliminate any rf noise, that can be annoying, if your hearing is sensative enough to hear it. With monster cable video cables the best way to see how much better they are is to set your tv on the highest contrast and compare color bars. Monster cables have less bleed over of colors, and tend to not degrade through use due to overheating from using a non gas filled cable. Just my two cents. As far as for the xbox, they are not neccisary because the xbox does not have compatable internal cabling. A cable is only as good as it's source. The video in the xbox is run at a quality that was designed for xbox cables. you will notice a slight diference of standard xbox cables on a very high end tv, but not really enough to justify the cost. Acoustic research cables on the standard high def pack are just as good due to the xbox's own limitations. Hope this clears up this discustion.

Sorry for the spelling i'm half asleep.

*edit* some grammer and spelling

you can buy 10' monster cables for xbox1 from ebay for $15 or less so why would price even be a factor in this question

however, my 2 cents is to buy the 12' psyclone cables because they are the same cable grade/quality plus they do not require a propritary adapter for fiber optic audio(like monster)

That's what I was going to say... smile.gif

I bought a Monster Cable of Ebay for 14$ shipped...price, isn't a factor.
