Hi
I bought a cable with optical output and i can listen to music or videos, but in stereo, with it
but i cant enable dolby digital or dts in the MS Dash, i can only choose mono, stereo or Dolby Suround, nor in the XBMC

I have a Softmoded 1.1 Xbox with XBMS as Dashboard
Is your cable an official cable from MS or from a third-party manufacturer? What kind of video output can be given through the cable?

Hi, so now you can enable dolby digital, but I think that it isn´t a really digital sound, because you have purchased a non dolby digital output.

Every cable that has a digital output can give AC3/DTS. The one requirement is that the Xbox needs to know that such an cable is connected. Like AeX said: he got it working by grounding pin 18.
