any help? 1080/720 are available as options in xbmc , yet when i select on of those resolutions the whole screen goes black and yet my tv says 1080 or 720. Could it be my outdated slayers evo ....i think i got version 3929?
-
sorry i meant i have version 3921
-
. It does support 1080i though.
Have you played a game in 720p or 1080i / Have you had any output in a resolution larger that 480p?
I can't quite understand from your post if you mean that the your old xbmc used to work with 720p/1080i...
Don't confuse xbmc with EvoX. Each one can work without the other.
From the way you describe it, it looks as though:
1. Your TV does not support 720p/1080i, or more probably:
2. It supports 720p/1080i on another input than the one you're using, or
3. You need to change a setting on your TV to support these resolutions.

thanks for replying. yeah my lcd tv supports 720 and 1080. Last year (last time i enabled hdtv on xbmc and tv) i was able to switch to 720 or 1080 with no problems. Ofcourse this was with an older version of xbmc...whatever version it was a year ago. However, recently ive been upgrading my xbmc like every month and a few weeks ago, I tried hdtv once again, since last year, and i got nothing but a black screen. When i change the resolutions to anything but 4:3 , whether 480, 720, 1080, or auto I get a black screen. Im not sure what is going on here. Oh and I havent tried playing games in hdtv yet.

Ok i think im getting some where here. I just tried changing the resolution from auto to 4:3 on my non-hdtv and i got a black screen again. So i know it not the tvs with the problem . Its gotta be software related....maybe im missing a file for xbmc?

ok, im getting frustrated. I just updated my xbmc again and now I cant get past the loading part for xbmc in slayers evol. It just stays at "loading" and wont go to xbmc. however, if i try it with my regular tv it does past the loading part and everything works ok. wtf is going on?

Yes!!! I finally got it to work. It turns out that I had to switch the Game region (under system settings) back to default (from ntsc). Thanks grimlock for trying.

You should get on xbins and update to a newer version of XBMC. You will be much happier with it.

Since you said you used to have a really old version of xbmc, have you made sure you deleted the config files under E:\ when you installed the newer version?
Edit: The save folder is E:\TDATA\0face008
