it might be because it's set to ntsc in the region settings needs to be set to pal

Sounds like it's set to PAL and you connected it to an NTSC tv.

its a ntsc box, it has x3 menu... I am not sure where to change settings because it could be in Pal mode... SO how do i go about changing video settings?

If the problem is thats its set to a bad video mode, old black and white tv's and really old computer monitors with composite inputs are usually good at displaying a good enough picture to adjust the settings back to NTSC...

   A quick note on that...these older displays usually have a "vertical hold" dial which is the key, check local second hand stores eg. savers, goodwill, thirft stores. You can get them next to nothing.  I believe security monitors have this feature too.

I had a similar problem.

I originally thought the same thing *PAL v.s. NTSC*

Turned out the guy who modded it previous (a buddy) pulled up some traces near the d0 when he realized he put the d0 in the wrong spot.

After a while, I got the crap to fix it (xatco knife & conductive paint) - and its working.



... Just an idea if the *PAL v.s. NTSC* deal dosen't work - check the traces etc.

No idea now...
So the box WAS working after I fixed thoes traces, now its not...

Anyone with ANY ideas at all reply - any help is  much appreciated.

note: no cable, ntsc v.s. pal   etc. problems.  Not an old tv.
