Title: Play Dvds In 60hz?

but obviously there is an issue with different framerates. NTSC 30fps obviously stutters when playing in 50hz at 25fps. being as the xbox supports 60hz, is there a way to force the MS dash to play in this mode to give smoother playback of 30 fps material?

rest assured, i have enabled PAL-60hz in the dashboard........

and i'm fully aware of what PAL-60 does, thank you.

the problem is the MS Dash not playing dvds in 60hz. as stated earlier this causes unsmooth playback of 30fps dvds.

i can easily change the videomode to NTSC, this is can be achieved with the enigmah videomode switcher.

however NTSC isn't as sharp on my television as PAL-50/PAL-60. and being as PAL-60 can handle the framerate, forcing the MS dash to play in 60hz would be the best option. (obviously though the MS dash was not designed to be multi-region anyway)

XBMC can play in 60hz, but the dvd functionality is somewhat lacking at the moment.

Does anyone know if DVDX plays in 60Hz mode?

Sorry I don't have any other info.  I'm assuming you've tried the MS DVD player (you know, the one with the remote and dongle)

yeah its the MS dvd player im trying to get working in 60hz. to be honest im actually surprised that no one has arisen this issue before. it would seem that the majority of users prefer to manually switch their videomode to NTSC each time they want to play a region 1 dvd on a PAL xbox.

now logic tells me that PAL 60 will play these dvds fine, because of the framerate match, as demonstrated in xbmc. personally i think the reason why the MS dash wont play 60hz is because MS intentionally prevented this to stop multiregion playback.

i don't suppose you know of a dvd app for the xbox that can actually play in 60hz? (besides xbox media center)
