Yes, find the engimah video mode switchdisc. I think one or two of the dashboards do it as well. Avalaunch maybe? I'm not so hot on newer dashboards.

So I would have to boot this CD every time I switch on my XBox and the settings stay in the memory until I turn it off?
Playing is not too much of an issue for me, I usually only use my XBox with XBMC to watch movies and listen to music. Isn't there a more convenient way?

It doesn't work like that, the video switch disc alters a form of memory inside called the EEPROM. It remembers settings even when you turn the xbox off, so it will stay on whatever you set it to until you decide to change it again.
