| XBMC/XBMP will display the menu and videos at the resolution you set it to including 720p. It will not however play DVD disks at anything higher than 480p. |
While xbmp/xbmc will not play a dvd DISK at anything higher than 480p, if you rip the dvd disk to your harddrive in perfect conversion ratio (ie., no loss in quality), 1:1, into .vob files, you can view the dvd movies in 720p and 1080i. But since dvd movies are only incoded in at the most 480p, the improvement isn't great, but it still looks better.
Hey FoeHammer, you not suggesting the standard definition PW6 can actually display 720p native are you, as in 720 lines shown?
(852 x 480) It will accept 480i/p / 576i/p 720i/p / 1080i/p etc but can only show you 480 lines of vertical resolution.
The PWHD6 on the other hand has a fixed resolution of 1024 x 768. It could display 720p native. As in 720 lines shown.
