You need to wait a lot longer than 9 minutes before bumping your post, this will just piss people off.

I suggest you boot up XBMC, and see if you are in PAL, NTSC-j or NTSC-i/m. You need to be in NTSC-i or m if you are in the US. Which dashboard are you using? Evox? I havent used evox in a very long time but i hear there was a new feature which automatically switches the videomode to match the game you are playing? maybe i'm wrong it could be another dash, but its worth investigating.

I'm sorry if I upset anyone but the orginal post was at 08:33 AM and the followup was PM. Sorry if it came off impatient.

I am using Evox and was going to try to flash it to the M7 version. I know that I am a newbie so I'm going to come right out and ask. Do I need to change the state of the chip before I flash it? I added the bin file but when I go into Evox and choose flash it just sits there saying erasing for an hour.

I will try the xbmc as you suggested. If I find that I am in NTSC-j will xbmc allow me to change it to NTSC-i/m? I used enigmah to change it to NTSC but I didn't see a choice for -j,-i or -m.

What seems strange to me is that all the games that I already have on the HD still work and mech warrior which is an original DVD works as well but the two new ones cut out the video.

Thanks for your help. I'll try xbmc and post the results.

I patched my xbox to Evox M7. It does have an option to see and change the region settings. The region is set to NTSC North America which should be correct for me. The game region is set to auto but I've tried the manual settings as well. I don't know what to try next. Are there any known issues with Sims Bustin Out or True Crime on a modded box? They both won't work from the DVD or the HD.

Have you tried disabling your modchip?

Here's an update for anyone that runs into a similiar problem or can explain how to get around this. I happened across another post and decided to test to see if I was having the same issue. Turns out that the games I was having a problem with work if I turn off the HDTV settings. True Crime for example works when I turn of the Widescreen option on the MS dashboard. I haven't tried changing all the settings yet like 480P and 1080i but I will test them in a bit. In the other post a suggestion is to upgrade my bios to 4981.06. I'll give it a try but I just upgraded the bios to Evox M7.

Here is the other post for reference.

Any other ideas we should try?
