I got this 2 when I bought a cable where I can attach an optical cable to (it was rgb also). When I plugged it out and put it in my other scart cable input it worked fine.

isn't s-video something totally different then rgb? Only very expensive tv's support s-video like hdtv's.

Sounds like the Xbox is in Component Video (Y/Pr/Pb) mode instead of RGB mode. That's what $ony did with the PS2 to stop people playing Macrovision-free DVDs (the Macrovision signal's apparently not present on the RGB output).

I've got this very problem. How do you set the Xbox to RGB-mode? This is only on LOTR:TT NTSC though, I tried LOTR:ROTK and DOA3 NTSC with the same cable and identical settings, and they worked like they're supposed to.
