I have a few questions about xbox and widescreen....

1) Can you use wide screen for widescreen games with the standard video pack, ie. the yellow RCA cable

2) on a widescreen tv, with a wide screen game, and the aforementioned av pack, i couldn't seem to get wide screen working, any ideas why? i turned it on in dashboard, looked through game options, but no. one game example is NBA 2K3

3) any basic tutorial or answers would be appreciated (yes i know three isn't a ?)

So you turned widescreen on with the MS dash and nothing happened?

When I turn on widescreen on my 4:3 TV, the MS Dash imeddiatly gets tall and narrow.  This is with an S-Video cable connection (i.e. not component, not HDTV).  You are using a single RCA connection but it should work the same as S-Video.

Are you sure your TV aspect ratio isn't set to "auto zoom" or something.  Do This, change your TV's setting to 4:3 (you should have vertical bars on the left and right sides).  Then make the widescreen change in your XBOX and see if your dash gets "narrower" after the change in the XBOX.
