Title: Divx 5.1
Post by: a2002adam on October 29, 2003, 03:10:00 PM
Does any media player give Divx 5.1 compatibility? When compressing a movie I made it "high-quality", and it says only if your pc supports it, so I'm sceptical XBMP will play it, and I don't want to waste a cd/dvd-r. I've had problems in the past with putting media on dvd-r and trying to play it with XBMP, because it either won't play or skips to another part of the disk, and I think that's down to XBMP not supporting the media types (because the dvd-r plays fine with Windows Media Player 9 in my pc. Thanks

I play DivX movies (any version, including 5.1) at bitrates of over 2000 kbit/s (704xYYY, B-frames) and 448 kbit/s AC3 and have never had XBMP stutter.  This is from a CD, through a XNS share, or from the Xbox HD.  I think it can handle it just fine....
